Make a migratory bird for a national community art project!

Bird-making workshops are where bird conservation comes to life! By taking sewn plush birds and scrap fabric, participants create a replica for a travelling art exhibit about bird building collisions. Every year, nearly 2 billion birds die in the United States after colliding with glass surfaces.

Bird-making workshops are great for organizing conversations and learning about bird safety, ecological issues, and sustainability. Not to mention that they are suitable to groups of all ages! It is a wonderful way to engage as a group around a central cause.

Meredith Barges is a bird-friendly building researcher and chair of Lights Out Central New York. She helps people to appreciate the complex lives of birds and how our decisions about buildings, landscaping, and nighttime lighting affect bird populations.
